At the ISC, the Visual Arts program encourages students to explore their creativity while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Through hands-on experiences in drawing, painting, sculpture, design, and digital media, students learn to express ideas, emotions, and perspectives in visual form. The Visual Arts program nurtures confidence, innovation, and appreciation for the arts as an essential part of a well-rounded, international education.

In the Primary Years Programme (PYP), students begin their artistic journey by exploring materials, techniques, and creative concepts that connect directly to their Units of Inquiry. Alongside their personal inquiries, elementary students are introduced to fundamental artistic concepts and techniques. This foundation nurtures curiosity and self-expression while helping children understand how art links to the world around them.

In the Middle Years Programme (MYP), Visual Arts challenges students to think critically and creatively as they explore the relationship between form, function, and meaning. Students investigate a range of artistic media and techniques while connecting their work to personal, cultural, and global themes. Emphasis is placed on the creative process through the cycle of inquiry: researching, experimenting, reflecting, and refining ideas. This process helps students develop both technical skill and artistic voice. Through studio work and written reflection, MYP artists learn to communicate ideas visually and thoughtfully as part of their broader IB learning journey.

In the Diploma Programme (DP), Visual Arts offers students an in-depth, two-year exploration of creative expression and critical inquiry. Students investigate and develop their own artistic practice through sustained studio work, research, and reflection. They experiment with a wide range of media and concepts while analyzing the work of artists from diverse cultures and time periods. The program culminates in a special art showcase, where students present their final exhibition—displaying two years of creative growth, technical skill, and personal vision to the school community.
